When hope became real

I was very disappointed in the way in which my faith didn't seem to make any difference at all in the way I reacted the news I had prostate cancer. I was surprised in the way in which my faith "kicked in" for lack of a better word. Three songs meant so much to me. They are:

#1 Help is on the Way by Michael W Smith. It wasn't just the song, it was what he said before he sang it. There is a commercial in spanish before the song begins. The link is here:

#2 Blessed Be Your Name-sung by the Newsboys- This song reminded me to bless God's name when great things happen and when awful things happen. The link is here:

#3 Blessings by Laura Story. She wrote this song after her husband was struggling with severe health issues. One of the many verses that touched me deeply was this:
"What if a thousand sleepless nights Are what it takes to know You're near" I was relieved to know I wasn't the only person struggling to find God near. I hoped it wouldn't take me a thousand sleepless nights to experience God's love. Thankfully it didn't. A link to her wonderfully encouraging song is found here:
